    The Brief

Create an online hub for the Coolpix S70 camera within the Nikon website that brings alive the camera’s features in an interactive, experiential way, while aligning with the TV campaign.

    The Challenge

Our agency, MRM was challenged with creating an experiential digital campaign without the budget to create unique assets. Using only frames and photography from the TV shoot we leveraged a brand new animation technology to an engaging and interactive story about the new camera in a website environment.

    The Solution

We used PaperVision and stylistic layering techniques to simulate a 3 dimensional environment that included the celebrity but also brought the product's technology front and center and simulated the hands-on experience of using the camera. We re-created three levels of zoom from 7x, to 15x and 24x taking the viewer deeper into the scene to reveal more of the drama unfolding. We enriched the visual experience with sound design that simulated the changing environment and provided a more immersive experience.

In addition to conventional product pages, we also created a page that used augmented reality that simulated swiping through a photo gallery. The computer’s camera could detect your gestures and change the page display on screen, giving you the experience of using the touch screen on the back of the camera. THE RESULT      We were able to simulate a product demo that could be experienced anywhere, and strengthen the brand perception of being aligned with state of the art technology of the era.
